I replaced my head unit to Pioneer AVIC-X940BT on a bose system that I have. What I notice right a way the sound was crisper and good but all the low end bass If you bypass the amp then you need to replace the speakers as well. The Bose speakers are 2 ohm where as your head unit is made for 4 ohm speakers.
